A little while ago I took part in an exhibition at A Happy Place Creation. They've photographed my work quite nicely and put it up on their site. To view my work and others, click here!
I spent my day at the Fittees workshop doing a screen priniting workshop with some friends, we learnt how to screen print as well as where to get all the equipment to do it ourselves. This was my final result. I printed 5 t-shirts and quite a few pieces of paper.
Earlier this year, I had my tenth tattoo, I also had no hair from a botched root bleaching session. I also had 12 pisrcings. I looked frightening, so I took all the piercings out, some kind of closed, some stayed open. Today, I disinfected all my rings and I put them all back in for a shoot. All except my belly ring and 2 that i have in the cartilage in my ear which is just far too sensitive to pierce again.
The piercing on the left side of my lip had closed and I forced a thin old nose ring into it. It was sore. The rest were fairly easy to get through again. It feels strange to have the extra bits again, but also a fun change.
Finally! I have a workspace! After working at the dining room table for months, I finally have a place of my own. My mother took pity on me and gave me back my antique desk and chair which was given to me by my godmother. It reminds me of many hours of Maths homework, which I loved by the way... I hung some fairy lights and put up some of my paintings on the window sill. Now I can work till my heart's content and not worry about spilling my food on my work!
This is my most recent project, I teamed up with GLMS Cards and we produced these cute little packs of cards.
Each plastic card holder contains 14 different cards each with their own quirky message and illustration by me! There are two kinds which you can purchase, the first is the sweet one filled with messages such as "A friend is one who knows us but loves us anyway", then there's the naughty range filled with suggestive messages such as, "I don't have any broekies on." Each card has a space on the back to write your own personalised message.
They should be in stores soon so keep a look out!

I live in an old house and on the weeekend, I went into the garage to move some stuff out of there, the man who previously owned the house had died and left all his old "stuff" in there, amongst this stuff, I found this cute little table, I opened up the top and to my surprise it was a sewing table! Excited, I asked the neighbour to help me carry it upstairs, I gave it a wipe down, now all it needs are new little handles and I'll either paint it or stain it. In the meantime it's acting as a table to chuck the post and keys onto, the bird key hanger above it keeps falling off the wall.
Look at these cards! They're great! I love the lack of expression in the characters and the static balloons and stances. The "thank you" card is beautiful and I adore the little fox in the snow, it reminds me of Ben.. And the flowers! Oh the flowers... See more of them here.
I've moved off the avo on toast recently and now I'm eating pumpkin seed rye bread with fat free cottage cheese, fried baby tomatoes and basil. This is what I blog about because I have nothing else to blog about...
I'm exhibiting some work at A Happy Place Creation on the 6th August, (this Thursday) and this is what I'm busy on. I've also got a few knitted goods on show.
So! I've been a busy bee and have let my blog become dormant! Sorry...
Yesterday, I went to the Co.Lab Studio launch, it's gonna be an awesome space with lots of interesting stuff coming out of there. Check out Machine Man, B-Team and Doe Clothing.
