#10AND5TAKEOVER AT SCHOONE OORDT

I was approached by 10 and 5 to be part of their #10and5takeover which involved me taking over their Instagram account for the weekend and roaming around in a brand new, petrol filled Ford Fiesta ST.
I mean. What!? So exciting. Broom broom!

I was so ecstatic to be involved in the campaign, that I opened about 30 tabs just looking for places far enough to travel to and back with a whole tank of petrol! I came across Schoone Oordt on Instagram when my friend Thaya, of the blog, Love Overberg, stayed there for a weekend. The Hotel is based in Swellendam which is just far away enough from Cape Town to feel like a holiday and close enough to go for a weekend.

I contacted the guest house and it looked like they had one last room available for us. It turns out that Schoone Oordt is owned by a very old family friend who I haven't seen in about 20 years, so it was lovely to rekindle this connection.

The whole weekend was filled with eating all the food and drinking all the wine.
The food at Schoone Oordt is absolutely outstanding.
Gene ate the pork belly and I had the mushroom risotto.

Breakfasts are amazing, a buffet of muesli, yoghurt, fruit, muffins followed by a starter course of poached pear follow by eggs benedict! Every afternoon, they also do high tea. I didn't take any pics becuase I was always so hungry. I would just swoop into the lounge and eat all the little treats followed by countless cups of tea.

The Schoone Oordt Hotel did everything perfectly and out weekend there was comfortable and relaxing. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend away.
